The Beaver City WeePee Baseball team brought home the first-place trophy from the Stamford Chamber of Commerce Tournament by defeating Orleans 19-0 in the first game, Alma 9-3 in the semifinals and Arapahoe 6-1 in the finals. The team is coached by Roger Powell, assisted by Lynn Marshall and Randy Weaver.

Chester Francis of Wilsonville received the oath of office from Acting Clerk Magistrate Marjory Lambert on Friday as County Commissioner to finish the remaining two years of the term of Tom Lewis, who recently passed away.

FROG CLASS

FROG (Fitness Reaching Older Generations) classes are held Tuesday and Fridays in Cambridge at the Congregational Church from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. “No requirements, come and have fun.” Call Marty Teter at 308-697-4299 with any questions.

A Funeral Service for Leon D. Lyon was held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Mr. Gary Janssen, officiating. Burial followed at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.

A memorial service for Ronald LeRoy Hogeland will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orleans, Nebraska with Father Maurice Current officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Orleans. The funeral service will be live streamed via the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Homes Facebook page.
