Hi-Line takes down Southern Valley for road win

SOUTHERN VALLEY The Hi-Line football team opened district play with a 48-26 victory at Southern Valley Friday. With a workmanlike effort, the Bulls opened a lead on the Eagles in the first half, then rode the advantage to victory. The Bulls forced five interceptions to keep the Eagles at bay in the first half, but weren’t able to put the game away until a touchdown with six minutes left pushed the adavantage to 48-26, which was the final score.

Roughriders, Trojans, Warriors compete at MHC Invite

HAYES CENTER - In a meet delayed a day by inclement weather, the Cambridge and ARapahoe girls finished second and third and the boys finished third and fourth at the Maywood-Hayes Center Cross Country Invite. Rachel Harris led the Trojans with a third-place finish while Brenna Deterding was fifth and Kori Koeppen was seventh. Wallace took the team title by finishing three runners in the top four. Arapahoe’s River Einspahr led the Warriors in 10th place and Paisley Zodrow and Courtney Eidson took 16th and 17th. Cambridge’s JoLie Farr and Jensyn Weiss finished 12th and 13th for the Trojans.
